Master Classes
I offer master class opportunities both in my studio and at other locations by invitation. I have a dynamic teaching style and ability to engage students through hands-on experiences. Participants will be invited to explore how to find their own voice in interpretation, gain a deeper understanding of the composer's intentions, and develop a more nuanced approach to phrasing and expression.
1
Participants
Participants will receive personalized feedback and insights into technique, interpretation, and performance skills.
Be prepared: Participants should know their piece thoroughly, as if preparing for a performance at a major venue. They should be able to start playing from any section of the piece if asked, by memory.
Be open to feedback: Participants should be ready to immediately implement suggestions and try new technical or interpretive concepts presented.
Focus on learning: The masterclass is primarily a learning opportunity, not a performance or competition. Participants should approach it with a mindset geared towards improvement and growth.
Come with specific questions: If there are particular aspects of the piece or technique that the participant wants feedback on, they should be prepared to ask about them.
2
Format
The ideal number of participants is between 4-8, depending on the length of the pieces presented. The recommended master class length is 90 minutes to 2 hours. There is no limit on audience size. Participants will first perform the entire work if feasible, with instruction to follow. It is recommended, though not required, that a second piano be on the stage, adjacent to the one the participant is using.
3
Concert Option
A solo recital of standard length can be offered for the evening prior to the master class.

Fees
Depending on the location and length of the master class, fees may vary but are always on a per-participant basis. In the event a concert is requested, a standard artist appearance fee will apply, in addition to that of the master class.
